TRANSCEND TS8GSDHC6 8GB SDHC Card Class 6 ( Class6 )

I already bought this 8GB SD card and is working very fast. I tested in my Nikon D80 and have more than 2300 shots available. I also own a 2Gb Transcend 150x SD memory card. This brand is emerging with high quality products.

This is the lowest price I found for a memory card of this category. I also heard very good comments from other friends who have this product in their Nikons.

This card is able to hold a complete DVD movie, thousands of songs/photos, or just serve as a backup device for one’s files.

It operates very well – I now have purchased 3 and with each use its value becomes more apparent.

One word of caution – even though most laptops and systems have an SD card slot, older computers may not be able to recognize or write to this card. Make sure your system has the ability to read SDHC configured products.

If you do not have an SD slot you can purchase an tiny SD reader (very inexpensive) that plugs into your USB port.

Got this on amazon for my Canon tx-1. The extra space allows for approx. 50min of high def video without having to worry about switching cards. Card works as expected, and considering I almost bought a similar card at Best Buy for $149, you can’t beat the price!

This 8GB SDHC is my second Transcend SD card. My first was an 1GB SD.

After having used some real slowpoke doozies in my Treos (namely Ritek, PNY, and “generic” cards of capacities between 1-4GB), I would rate these as good or better than SanDisk Ultra II’s for quality and speed. The 1GB 120x Transcend SD card seemed almost as fast, but this Class 6 SDHC card is the fastest SD card I’ve ever owned. Saving 300k photos is almost instant and so is switching between apps and email stored on the card.

Note, though, if using on the Palm OS – it will show only 4GB available; however, once you fill up the first 4GB, it will then show the actual remaining capacity. It does not affect the amount (7.5GB) of usable space, though. This is a quirk of the PalmOS rather than the card. Using an SD-to-USB adaptor, the capacity shows correctly.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the 16GB version from Transcend (and later the 32GB version) at a reasonable price (i.e., when they fall under $100).

I wanted to take advantage of the video capability on the Canon SD800IS digital camera and required a large memory card. Given the way memory requirements increase over time I opted for the largest available. I also wanted a fast memory write speed. The Transcend 8Gb SDHC Class 6 card was the best value available.

I’m using this card in a Canon Powershot A550. It works every bit as good as it claims to. The 8 gigs of storage is especially good because I shoot a lot of videoclips with the camera as well as taking pics. I needed a card that could hold a lot of data. Also the card runs really fast.
